Mark Sanchez

Mark Sanchez and the Jets continue to win close games. They have a nice matchup this week once again. He and the Jets should put up big numbers (NFL.com).

CHICAGO BEARS (6-3) @ MIAMI DOLPHINS (5-4) – Thursday 7:20pm

Favorite: MIA (-1.5)

Definitely Start: Matt Forte, Johnny Knox, Brandon Marshall, Ronnie Brown

Maybe Start: Jay Cutler, Greg Olsen, Ricky Williams

Don’t Start: Chester Taylor, Devin Hester, Tyler Thigpen, Devone Bess

Analysis: The Bears found that when you run the ball, you greatly increase your odds of winning. I have a feeling they’ll run 20-25 times this Thursday. Play Forte and Knox who is due. Speaking of those who are due, Marshall has definitely slacked as of late. This week with a good matchup on Charles Tillman I rely on the Dolphins best player to get looks. There’s QB drama in Miami, so Brown/Williams make fantasy sense as well.

Prediction: Bears 23, Dolphins 22.

BUFFALO BILLS (1-8) @ CINCINNATI BENGALS (2-7) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: CIN (-5.5)

Definitely Start: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Lee Evans, Terrell Owens, Cedric Benson

Maybe Start: Fred Jackson, Steve Johnson, Chad Ochocinco

Don’t Start: Carson Palmer

Analysis: The Bills are hot! Buffalo won a close game with the inferior Lions. Upset of the week – the Bengals bad season gets even worse when the Bills pass for 300 yards on their defense. Fitzpatrick is a must go for me. I think Benson will be the workhorse for Cincinnati this week. Take caution as if one team gets down early. Both have not been reluctant just airing it out. Could be intriguing but with these records, I doubt it.

Prediction: Bills 17, Bengals 13.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (3-6) @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-4) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: KC (-8)

Definitely Start: Larry Fitzgerald, Matt Cassel, Thomas Jones, Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe

Maybe Start: Derek Anderson, Tim Hightower

Don’t Start: Dexter McCluster, Beanie Weels

Analysis: Has anyone seen Dwayne Bowe? For the first 6 weeks, people were talking about him as waiver wire garbage. Now he has gotten his act together and gone full out in the tight AFC West race. Arizona is spiffy on defense so either attack mode for the Chiefs could work. The Cardinals have seen Fitzgerald get his touches. The absence of Kurt Warner wasn’t as drastic for his production as had been thought. Bye weeks are over, so there’s no sensible reason to start Anderson unless you’re in a 16 team league. He might be alright though – the Cards will air it out.

Prediction: Chiefs 34, Cardinals 18.

GREEN BAY PACKERS (6-3) @ MINNESOTA VIKINGS (3-6) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: GB (-3)

Definitely Start: Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin

Maybe Start: James Jones, Brandon Jackson, Visanthe Shiancoe

Don’t Start: Brett Favre, Bernard Berrian

Analysis: Will Brett Favre extract revenge on his former team? Is the Pope Jewish? I can’t see a crap Vikings team topping one of the NFC’s best teams even if the game is in the Metrodome. Peterson should be the primary offensive threat for the Vikes. The Pack have so many weapons at receiver, it’s hard to predict who will have the good week. Driver is back, so caution on Jones.

Prediction: Packers 30, Vikings 15.

Favorite: TEN (-7)

Definitely Start: Keiland Williams, Santana Moss, Chris Johnson

Maybe Start:  Donovan McNabb, Chris Cooley, Randy Moss, Nate Washington

Don’t Start: Ryan Torain, Anthony Armstrong, Vince Young

Analysis: As far as fantasy goes, this game really doesn’t appear to have much to offer. Chris Johnson owners are hoping to see their top two pick get back to being Chris Johnson. I feel confident with most Titans in this game after seeing what Washington did defensively Monday night vs. Philly. Torain might not go for the Skins, so Williams could take his workload again.

Prediction: Titans 24, Redskins 14.

Favorite: JAX (-1.5)

Definitely Start: Peyton Hillis, David Garrard, Maurice Jones-Drew, Mike Sims-Walker

Maybe Start: Colt McCoy, Benjamin Watson, Mike Thomas, Marcedes Lewis

Don’t Start: Mohamed Massaquoi, Josh Cribbs

Analysis: The Browns continue to scare teams who play down to them. Hillis and Co. seem to have found some kind of a spark. This is the team surprisingly enough who may have a chance to contend in 2011 if they find one or two playmakers. The Jaguars put on a clinic passing the ball on Houston – but so does everyone else. I’ll take Hillis and then the Jacksonville playmakers.

Prediction: Browns 20, Jaguars 16.

HOUSTON TEXANS (4-5) @ NEW YORK JETS (7-2) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: NYJ (-7)

Definitely Start: Andre Johnson, Mark Sanchez, LaDainian Tomlinson, Braylon Edwards

Maybe Start: Kevin Walter, Arian Foster, Shonn Greene, Santonio Holmes, Dustin Keller

Don’t Start: Matt Schaub

Analysis: I don’t care if Andre is on Revis Island, I’m taking my chances. He is proving his beast-ness and I don’t think an unmotivated and freshly paid Revis can control him. However, Schaub is not starting so there’s the chance the ball may not travel far. The Jets defense may prove to be the mode of transportation to victory lane if they can keep the Texans from moving the ball. Houston’s defense is a joke, so Sanchez and his weapons are all must starts.

Prediction: Jets 35, Texans 13.

BALTIMORE RAVENS (6-3) @ CAROLINA PANTHERS (1-8) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: BAL (-10)

Definitely Start: Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Anquain Boldin, Mike Goodson

Maybe Start: Steve Smith, Todd Heap, Willis McGahee, Derrick Mason

Don’t Start: Jimmy Clausen, DeAngelo Williams (IR), Jonathan Stewart

Analysis: What an elite matchup. I’m not going to waste your time talking about the Panthers without DeAngelo Williams. The Ravens are going to manslaughter Carolina. Any questions? I like the matchups for Flacco, Rice, Boldin, Heap, and McGahee especially if the lead is big early.

Prediction: Ravens 27, Panthers 9.

DETROIT LIONS (2-7) @ DALLAS COWBOYS (2-7) – Sunday 12:00pm

Favorite: DAL (-6.5)

Definitely Start: Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew, Jon Kitna, Felix Jones, Miles Austin

Maybe Start: Shaun Hill, Jahvid Best, Kevin Smith, Dez Bryant

Don’t Start: Nate Burleson, Marion Barber, Roy Williams

Analysis: It’s sad we’re stuck seeing two 2-7 teams on Thanksgiving so let’s see who gets to win one before they both lose to Super Bowl winners (Patriots for Lions, Saints for Cowboys). There’s not much intrigue in this game. Johnson shows he’s right behind Andre Johnson for the best receiver claim in the league. Best and Williams now split carries for the Lions so neither makes sense fantasy-wise. The Cowboys are so boring at this point. Austin is still hit or miss, Barber should get cut (haircut humor), and Kitna is… whatever. Lions can’t win on road (0-25 in last 25 road contests), so Dallas wins by default. Enjoy America!

Prediction: Cowboys 26, Lions 16.

Favorite: PIT (-7.5)

Definitely Start: Ben Roethlisberger, Rashard Mendenhall, Mike Wallace

Maybe Start: Jason Campbell, Louis Murphy, Zach Miller

Don’t Start: Darren McFadden, Jacoby Ford, Hines Ward, Heath Miller

Analysis: I love the Steelers in this game to: a) avenge the loss in Pittsburgh last year and b) send Oakland back to reality. The Raiders right now are the 4 seed in the AFC and would have a home playoff game on Wild Card weekend. We’ll see why Sunday that’s a myth. Ward will be a nonfactor with Asomugha covering him. Roethlisberger, Mendenhall, and Wallace all get high marks for starters this week.

Prediction: Steelers 20, Raiders 17.

ATLANTA FALCONS (7-2) @ ST. LOUIS RAMS (4-5) – Sunday 3:05pm

Favorite: ATL (-3)

Definitely Start: Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez, Steven Jackson

Maybe Start: Michael Jenkins, Sam Bradford, Danny Amendola

Don’t Start: Jason Snelling, Brandon Gibson, Daniel Fells

Analysis: I dub this as not much of a contest. I’ve been high of the Atlanta Falcons studs (Ryan, White, Turner, Gonzalez) and this week I’m no different. They continue to score and put up offensive numbers. For the home team, Bradford will see great pressure so I’m iffy on his performance. Jackson should be the main player for the Rams if he stays healthy this week in practice. Let’s hope this game doesn’t get blacked out. The Rams have given plenty of reasons for their fans to be optimistic looking forward.

Prediction: Falcons 23, Rams 19.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (6-3) @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (3-6) – Sunday 3:05pm

Favorite: SF (-3)

Definitely Start: Josh Freeman, LeGarrette Blount, Mike Williams, Kellen Winslow, Frank Gore, Vernon Davis

Maybe Start: Cadillac Williams, Troy Smith, Michael Crabtree

Don’t Start: Arrelious Benn, Josh Morgan, Ted Ginn

Analysis: It’s hard to be high on the Bucs who have won a lot of games against teams less superior than even they are. They’ve neded a signature road win and I believe this week they get it. Going west, Tampa should be able to control the clock and run the ball at Candlestick. Gore is an absolute must start, especially in PPR leagues. The Bucs have surrendered oodles of rushing yards for the last few weeks. The Inconvenient Truth should score at will.

Prediction: Buccaneers 27, 49ers 24.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (5-4) @ NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (6-3) – Sunday 3:05pm

Favorite: NO (-11.5)

Definitely Start: Matt Hasselbeck, Marshawn Lynch, Drew Brees, Marques Colston

Maybe Start: Mike Williams, John Carlson, Robert Meachem, Devry Henderson, Lance Moore

Don’t Start: Deon Butler, Justin Forsett, Jeremy Shockey, Reggie Bush

Analysis: Bush is back from injury for the Saints. Not that he makes much of a fantasy impact, but teams will undoubtedly look at him when he takes the field. This may open up the pass for New Orleans more. If Brees can find time and be accurate, he could slice up this Seahawks defense that’s only good at home. Hasselbeck seems to be on his last leg with the Seahawks. Lynch and Forsett will get the load as Seattle will more than likely try and run the ball. Their chances of success remain to be unseen.

Prediction: Saints 30, Seahawks 14.

Favorite: NE (-3)

Definitely Start: Peyton Manning, Donald Brown, Reggie Wayne, Tom Brady, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Aaron Hernandez

Maybe Start: Pierre Garcon, Jacob Tamme, Deion Branch, Danny Woodhead

Don’t Start: Austin Collie, Wes Welker, Fred Taylor

Analysis: This soon-to-be scoring fest means lots of fantasy owners will have either the game on television or keep an eye open for stats on the bottom line ticker. In essence, start any stud you have in this game. The one main area of concern is the Colts running defense. BJGE is good for a score every week and this one should be no different. What makes New England dangerous is their versatility to run or pass in different situations. This is certainly a power statement game in the AFC. It will be interesting to know who takes control on the conference.

Prediction: Patriots 23, Colts 20.

NEW YORK GIANTS (6-3) @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (6-3) – Sunday 7:20pm

Favorite: PHI (-3)

Definitely Start: Eli Manning, Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks, Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin

Maybe Start: Brandon Jackson, Mario Manningham, Brent Celek

Don’t Start: Steve Smith (WAIVED), Kevin Boss

Analysis: What will Vick do as an encore? This week he sees a legitimate defense with the Giants. However, New York just gave up loads of yards and points to the lowly Cowboys. Interesting situation for the Giants at receiver – Smith is no longer on the team after tearing his pectoral muscle unexpectedly. Which Giants receiver will step up for Eli? Until they find out who will be their true number one, the Eagles may take advantage of the void. Vick is too hot to sit. His magic may once again surface. The NFC’s number two seed is at stake.

Prediction: Eagles 31, Giants 23.

DENVER BRONCOS (3-6) @ SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (4-5) – Monday 7:30pm

Favorite: SD (-10)

Definitely Start: Kyle Orton, Knowshon Moreno, Brandon Lloyd, Philip Rivers, Ryan Mathews, Malcom Floyd

Maybe Start: Jabar Gaffney, Eddie Royal, Legadu Naanee, Patrick Crayton

Don’t Start: Daniel Graham, Mike Tolbert, Seyi Ajirotutu

Analysis: The ultimate fantasy receiver matchup this week when we see Floyd vs. Lloyd. These guys continue to come from nowhere and make huge impacts for their offenses. Denver can run the ball better which is why I like the Broncos by a slight edge. I can easily see these teams going punch-for-punch or miss-for-miss. Either way it should be an entertaining. Consider the loser to be done in the AFC West. Kansas City and Oakland are serious contenders at this point, so a sub .500 squad is done.

Prediction: Broncos 38, Chargers 33.
